there was the tiniest

bit of fall in the air this morning {it might have had more to do with a fall-ish smell?}but it added to my already growing excitement for sweater weather.  Don't read me wrong, I'm not at all in a hurry for summer to end but I do love it when the next season is close enough to anticipate. 

Browsing around {and paying attention to the color forecast earlier this year} I've been noticing a lot of warm leathers and great color combinations that have my imagination flying through the possibilities.  

On my short list: a really great tailored blazer and a rain coat style coat in a light neutral to pair with bright scarves.

In parting, an all time favorite movie quote about the way fall makes me happy,

inspired by: soft greens, blues and breezy nights

Summertime has brought roof top luaus and art festivals and early morning yard sales. Could summer get more fun in the city? I can't get enough of the balmy nights with just the right amount of breeze. By mid afternoon I'm ready to finish off my projects and relax somewhere shady and cool.

The day will come when I'm tired of blue and aqua. Until that day I'll just keep loving it.
I had the pleasure of getting a mini tour of Caitlin Creer's home this morning during her very chic yard sale by super talented Kirsten of 6th Street Design School. I haven't stopped thinking about her gorgeous marble counter tops all day!

final watercolor class

Six weeks of water color class and I think I'll continue my quest to conquer the medium even though for the most part I have felt discouraged by it. I didn't love any of the studies we did so I was more into figuring out how to pull off the techniques than producing any significant work of art. The trick now will be to keep up with it on my own.

I had more fun after the class walking around the garden seeing the huge difference in the place from six weeks ago when I began spending my Wednesday evenings in the garden. Hardly anything was in bloom then and now there is an overwhelming amount of pretty things to enjoy.

I can never get enough details. Especially when they come with intoxicating fragrance.
