What a beautiful and slow moving spring season so far.
I don't know why it surprises me every year when things come back to life, but it does.  And this in between weather could stretch on through June if it were up to me.

Now that we've discussed the weather, I had a happy surprise this week when my parents called Monday afternoon to say they were on their way for a short visit.  Rather than staying with the Awesome's, I talked them into staying with me which was a first in a long while since it's been some time since I've lived somewhere that wouldn't require piling up like a totem pole to squeeze everyone in.  It was so great having them around for a couple days.  We played one of my favorite games called 'rearrange the furniture' a few times since I can't play on my own due to the fear of scratching the wood floors.  They are so patient with me.  We also had a successful furniture swap where they brought my red cabinet for my kitchen and I sent home a writing desk with them.

Other highlights this week: lots of time with my extended family, hanging with good friends, enjoying the sunshine and the full moon, having a bunch of art projects going at once, selling a bunch of my furniture {out with the old, in with the new}and a chill week at work.

In character, in manner, in style, in all things, the supreme excellence is simplicity."
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I agree Mr. Longfellow, simplicity is happiness.

  1. Would love to see your red cabinet. In two days the diptych you gave me will be arriving. I've got big plans for it and the perfect place to hang it. Thanks again.

  4. I love your parents! I can't wait to see everyone this summer. Why can't the country shrink so we can be closer together?
