New Year, new direction

I have been thinking about what to do with my dear designsparrow once I finished ALT TAB.  I've got a good idea of the direction I'm going to take it, but that might change.
That's part of the goal for 2013.
To be more flexible.

I liked knowing that Friday was my day to check in, but maybe I need to let go a bit?  Allow for more spontaneity.  We'll see.  For now, count on me for a weekly post and maybe a couple extras.
Rather than my easy-to-spout-off-in-no-determinable-order-highlight list, I'm going to aim for actual paragraphs that connect to one another.  This could be a lofty goal since it's hard to organize my thoughts.  But that's the point.  To stretch a bit.  Add to the base structure I built last year, and see what happens. That is an underlying goal in life isn't it?  To continually create more depth, more substance to our life.  To our character.

I'm going to share more design projects once again.  To be true to the design part of the sparrow.
And while it's scary to put them out there - some of my art projects as well.
And a photo of the week that may or may not pull it all together.
Like this one.
I could tie it in with my thoughts on growth in the new year and allowing for some time to let it happen.  This didn't happen overnight.  It happened as cold, hard nights froze, and the days warmed allowing for the ice to grow.  Relentlessness gravity kept after it and layer after layer of individual tiny drops turned into something really beautiful.

Or, I could just tell you that RC1 and I were outside on his snowy back porch with a fog machine, a bunch of lights, and his camera when I spotted his impressive collection of icicles and my frozen fingers itched for my camera.  I was wearing silk and fur.  My hair and makeup were professionally done and while this project started out as an exploratory expedition to see if said dress is a keeper, it turned into a full blown adventure.  As most things do when you mix a photographer, a designer, and an idea.

What is it that makes us want to capture the moments, the beauty, around us and keep it for later?

"There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature -- the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter."

  1. You are still an ethereal thinker.....and especially fun, too.
