inspired by: yarn bombers

 Around town I've been noticing normal inanimate objects with a little extra flair.
I thought it must be a Utah thing, maybe even part of the art festival last weekend?  But after reading an article in the Times {my favorite source for weird facts} I found out it is a world wide movement called yarn bombing, or gorilla knitting.   I did an image search and was instantly wishing I knew how to knit so I could go attack something with some yarn.
Knitters - grab your gear and let me know when you have done some public work!
 {images from here, here, here, here...do an image search, that's what I did.}

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DILLON!!  NINE YRS OLD TODAY!!

  1. The human touch is an amazing thing, isn't it! Who knew...a toro covered in yarn =] Betcha you can't cover a Utah bison in yarn.

  2. I like the bike rack one the best - how on earth did they do the bull??? Without getting caught?

  3. i love this movement! we had a bunch of yarn bombers here in LA last year and the neighborhood looked so much softer and prettier! i think they're all gone now because they don't hold up well in the rain, but i suppose that means it's about time to get the knitters together again.
